DOES BRUSHING HARDER MEAN CLEANER TEETH?
NO, It does not!!! Brushing your teeth harder can cause more long term damage to your gums, causing PERMANENT SENSITIVITY. Over all clean is ONLY ACHEIVED by FLOSSING and BRUSHING, in that order!
WHO SHOULD USE THE ELECTRIC TOOTHBRUSH?
There are two main types of patients who SHOULD use an Electric Toothbrush. 1. A patient who DOES NOT/CAN NOT CONSISTENTLY take their time and brush EFFECTIVELY on a daily basis, in the morning and at night. 2. A patient who brushes their teeth too hard causing recession (the gum tissue starts to recede) and can make their teeth sensitive. NOTE TO SELF: Once the gum tissue has receded it CAN NOT grow back!
WHY IS BRUSHING & FLOSSING SO IMPORTANT?
Brushing only cleans two aspects of your teeth, the front and the back. Sometimes the bristles of a toothbrush can go slightly interproximal (in between the teeth) however, they CANNOT go fully in between the teeth. FLOSSING cleans either side of the tooth, NOT the front and back of teeth. Therefore ONLY brushing and flossing TOGETHER can clean the entire tooth!
